TJDestry: You didn’t quite get the cartoon. See, there’s this thing called ‘symbolism’, where one thing stands for another. The wall in the cartoon represents the ‘separation of powers ’ doctrine in the U.S. Constitution. It is not, like, an actual wall. The cartoonists’ point is that Emperor Obama is bulldozing a hole in our Constitution, and that if he does so, the fence at the border, however strong, will be meaningless.Does this explanation speak to your towering intellect?
What’s interesting is the critic ‘toonists and politicos who didn’t even listen to what he said, or what his proposed EO to move Congress to move would actually DO!
HIs proposal sounds fine, and isn’t an “amnesty” like REAGAN granted, but does give America, as well as productive immigrants, a chance.
It does make me think of LESS productive immigrants, like Ted Cruz, born Cuban-Canadian in Canada, allowed to migrate here and at least temporarily, renounce his Canadian part of dual citizenship. (But when he leaves Congress, hopefully soon, he will go BACK to Canada for the “free” medical!)
