I knew a guy who paid no income taxes between roughly 1955 and 1986, when he died of cancer. It was left to his widow to deal with the IRS. Fortunately, since she went to them, and they had no clue prior to that, and no data on him, they were fairly understanding.
Oregon doesn’t have sales tax either. Much better than Washington where I use to live. Sadly I HAVE paid my taxes though, and realize that someday I will die…until then I’ll enjoy my life in Oregon I guess. Wish I was as delusional as Berle at times.
Oregon has no sales tax, Washington has no property tax. I have always thought it would be ideal to live along the Columbia River in Washington and commute across the river to do my shopping.

I’ve learned a bit today. I think I’m going to look for houses on the Washington/Oregon border.
