The sports tail has been wagging the university dog for decades. The money pouring in NOW makes it even worse. I’d bet any amount of gambling addictions that not ONE football or basketball factory would be bowl or tournament eligible, if all that COULD be known about them actually WAS known about them.

I was just reading that a former department head at NCU was convicted for taking money for puff courses for athletes which he never taught.

UNC – Chapel Hill. A good academic school had a non-existent African-American studies course.
