Marigold: Perhaps this pumpkin could resemble a unicorn after all. It reminds me or a cousin of mine, who was round of form and orange of hue. I did not know him well. He was quiet, and only seemed to be abound in late October. He has the most unnerving grim. Phoebe: Did he also have a candle in his head? Marigold: Now, that I think of it, my family may have just have had a pumpkin.

And then there was the unicorn who always poked others with his horn, a real bad apple and the unicorn who was real good looking, she had great melons, and the unicorn every one was happy to be around, she had real a peal, and the one who thought he was a goblin walked on two legs yelling Blart and eating socks, he was out of his gourd, and the one who wore a hat on his but and pants on his head, he was just nuts. Marigold’s family tree was part of an orchard.

I didn’t know that they had Jack-O-Lanterns when Marigold was young. Heck, I wasn’t even sure that pumpkins existed back then.

Marigold’s trip down Childhood (foalhood??) Memory Lane reminds me of the odd things I thought as a child, hearing and experiencing things I didn’t understand and trying to put them in a frame I could understand.
