In the check-out line one Saturday afternoon. 30-something cashier keeps calling me “young lady.” First time I let it go by; by the time we were done he had done it enough that I was fed up, so when he said, “Have a good afternoon, young lady” I replied, “You, too, old timer.” The shocked look on his face was priceless.
