Panetta and Gates’ tomes would have much more credibility if the controversial writings were not worth $millions to them in book sales. It feeds into the right wing ideology, the right wing media eats it up and exaggerates it for the content and ratings, and the left media capitalizes on the controversy. How can such books not be considered seditious, particularly when it is against a war-time president. It is getting so that the biggest threat is from within, but hiding behind the First Amendment.
