It ain’t easy being a soldier who suffered that much in action. (The wife must’ve taken the daughter with her to get away from him and the Leia costume was probably an apology present or something.)

Important for kids to hear what it was really like, from one who lived it.

Oh! I don’t know about that. Seems kind of sick to use little kids for therapists…

I wish all the Democrats and all the Republicans who are so desperate to have a war with somebody somewhere over something would learn a lesson from that.

George Orwell wrote about the nightmare of perpetual war. Today’s politicians think, “Perpetual war? What a lovely idea.”

Wow, Mark seems to be pulling a page from Trudeau, getting serious about veterans. I’m hooked now.

I don’t think it was meant as a joke, rather as cultural confusion. Most people I know have never heard of Rememberance Day (Poppy Day) or Armistice Day, because they’re not celebrated here in the States. Here we have Veterans’ Day and Memorial Day, which are both celebrated at different times of year from your holidays.

I don’t favor war any more than the next person.But this semi-psycho Vietnam veteran stuff is getting old – if it hasn’t already.

What a fun children’s story. Still, better than just babying them.
