Desert California has long gotten it’s water from the Colorado, Feather, and Owens rivers, it is drought far away from Southern California that is the actual “water” problem, but drought there as well isn’t helping any.
Sometimes OR and WA have droughts, too. And the percentage of snow-pack can also point to a low water content. Sure the Columbia is a mighty river, but it too, is subject to the vagaries of summer drought… Don’t look to us, So. California, we can barely hold our heads above what little water we have… ;)
