Ignorance and fear have done the destroying. Dictators and strongmen use whatever tools they have available or given to them by people like yourself. Christianity isn’t bad, but people often use it for bad purposes.
And if a lower court declares a law banning same-sex marriage to be constitutional, the SC will also leave that in place. The inaction of the SC is not entirely good news.
Roberts’ expression and posture, and the “take” on verbeage in the ‘toon is what makes it both funny, and sad. Prejudice is pretty universal, and whether totoms, rocks, oral histories, or books and other sacred objects and myths, pretty much justifies it for any culture, and it’s called religious?
I find it odd that no one pointed out the abuses by extremists in the Muslim faith. Most are tagging Christians as systematic abusers. Uh, who has the lead in beheadings, floggings and mutilations?
Anytime there is a chance to bash and insult Christianity and its followers you and many on the left PC Police lap it up and don’t say a word. As soon as someone says something you don’t like about Islam you start yelling Flag, Flag, Flag….restrict his free speech. Unbelievable.
Roberts voted to preserve the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). As long as DOMA was in place, there was a law that applied to all 50 states defining marriage whether the states permitted same-sex marriage or not. Roberts was on the losing side and a part of DOMA was declared unconstitutional. This has now created situation of legal chaos. A same-sex married couple in Massachusetts will lose some legal rights if they move to Texas, including any parental rights over children they adopted in Massachusetts. This strikes directly at the full faith and credit clause of the Constitution. Roberts realizes there is no going back. As long as the Appeals Courts vote to allow same-sex marriage, he will not hear the appeal. Once an Appeals Court upholds a state law that bans same-sex marriage, the Court will hear that case and use the full faith and credit clause and equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment to declare the law unconstitutional and this will then make same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.
You did note I was talking about “extremists in the Muslim faith..”, right? You are exaggerating the effect of drone strikes. How many innocents have died compared to the extremist’s bombings & hijackings? The extremists deliberately target civilians, that’s why they are called Terrorists.
What a load of garbage. No liberal is “saying that traditional marriage is bad.” I’m married myself, and I like it. I want others to be able to marry people they love. I am against bigots who are opposed to marriage, whether inter-racial or inter-gender. The only ones opposed to marriage are bigots like the Family Research Council.

“80% of the states voted against same sex marriage.”Interesting but totally meaningless statement.
But then I am just one of the millions of liberals who are not anti profit motive.
