Gracie: Papi, Can I talk to you about... girl stuff? Dad: Uh... Dad: Gracie, I'm always available to help you. Dad: Here... follow me. Dad: I'll help you find Tia Carmen... Dad: So you can talk to her.
The sad thing is, Gracie wanted to talk to her Papi, not to Tia Carmen. Come on, Papi, step up to the plate — be more than just another guy, be a Dad. I know, Sergio IS a good Dad, but in this case he cuts himself off from half the beauty and struggle of parenthood, and he perpetuates a dysfunctional male stereoptype.

If Sergio weren’t a widower, his wife sure would know to deal with his daughter’s problems.

He did not even want to know what the girl stuff was, he must be really clueless.

Anyone wanna bet that tomorrow he relents and asks her what the issue is and finds out it’s nothing like what he thought it would be?

So what happened to the mom?

Gracie’s only about eight or so; I doubt that she’s interested in the type of “girl stuff” that Sergio’s thinking of.
Observer fo Irony over 9 years ago
Gracie probably wants to know why Baldo’s girl friend likes him.
