@jenbrown1017My first job was scrapping dog pooh off the walls of a Humane Society shelter that euthanized animals and I have seen animals die in the cold. I would rather have an animal pass away in the arms of some who loved them than have them kicked to the curb and die alone. The hardest part was gaining the confidence of a scared animal and then give them up to a heartless person to euthanize; there were some heartless people who worked at that shelter.

What will Mimi do when she finds out what happens to pumpkins?

My Cuddles died after her last hour in my arms. She died of prolapse because doctors here no longer give “cheque drops” to prevent egg laying without a mate. That ended in 2008 and I could not bear to bury such a lovely creature. She is preserved in freeze dry taxidermy on my desk (as lovely in her soft feathers as ever).

Look at those eyes! She’s heartbroken!
