There are a lot of conservatives who think we are getting far to close to a police state and that privacy rights need support.

A police helicopter can’t hover outside of your second story bedroom window, or your eight story apartment window without being noticed, drones can. Nearly all of these four and six prop drones come complete with cameras now. I wonder when some paparazzi’s drone is going to get shot out of the sky outside of some actor’s house. An expensive drone can not only provide images, but can provide them infrared, nightvision, and perhaps even listen in to what is said within a dwelling. George Orwell is kicking himself for not including this technology in his book.Anybody know how to put a remotely activated squirt gun on a drone so I can shoot ‘enemy’ drones flying over my yard? :DRespectfully, though a little facetiously,C.

Confirmed on “Cashin in” on Faux News this morning, “Liberalism” is a highly infectious virus threatening the world, causing all and every “ill” from Ebola to bad movie scripts, and must be stopped at all costs!

I’m for anything that limits the power of the police. Once you find yourself under the thumb of law enforcement, they never let you be and consider it their sworn duty to harass you until you leave town or adequately fill the city coffers. Have a DUI? Your license plate is entered into a database, and every squad car has a license plate reader looking for marks. You will find yourself getting pulled over almost daily for the next 5 years. Found guilty of mary jane possession? Police will knock on your door weekly for cursory “probable cause” searches. Make threats against someone who is irritating you? Police will knock for “mental health welfare checks” to see if you feel like harming anyone. The local jail is constantly filled to capacity (1000 people) because of this nonsensical harassment, overly restrictive probation requirements, and criminalization of poverty.

A shooter in New Jersey just went to jail for this. Someone was filming a home remodel and the shooter took offense. BTW, it wasn’t his home.

Come on, people. Privacy, or lack thereof, is not a partisan issue. Both major political parties are guilty of reducing the privacy of citizens. Aside from each party individually contributing to diminished right to privacy, the Patriot Act was ratified by the vast majority of both Congressional Republicans and Democrats alike. For either side to take swipes at the other on this issue is a big steaming load of BS.

If you’d been paying attention, you’d know that I’m not a Democrat, I’m not a fan of the Democrats, and I didn’t vote for Obama in either election. If you’re going to try to show me up, try consulting the facts.
