Looks like a perfect example of “cap and trade”.

The difference is that China, while refusing to accept any blame for its dirty coal, is growing its renewable energy capacity more than any other country in the world, while even Democratic candidates here are running in FAVOR of more coal-burning. Who do you think will clean up first?

It is true that energy used to be cheap. You might have noticed that this is no longer the case, even with fossil fuels.

We are at a crossroads: we can continue to pollute the air and water to continue to mine fossil fuels. We will also deal with more health issues and a poisoned food chain as a result. Attempting to deal with those consequences will wipe out any savings we might achieve by not trying alternative energy. Or we can pursue alternative energy, as China and Germany are showing the way, and gain better health for the future. Another valuable side effect will be the vastly diminished geopolitical grip that the Middle East has on our society. For that reason alone, it would make sense to get away from oil.

But that would make it so you’d have to agree with scientists, which seems to be out of favor on the conservative side of the fence.

@sizeofaPeayou say the democrats are adapting to greater forces; how are they adapting to the volcanoes that are exploding everywhere spuing tons of noutious gases. How are they adapting to the carbon dioxiside coming out from the oceans. They are not adapting, they are looking for ways to hide.
