Who said anything about the Democrats being the “right” party? They’re just currently the ones who haven’t gone so far off the rails that they’re trying to drive their train through a cornfield.

You know that political parties aren’t sacrosanct, right? They’re not even in the US Constitution. Political parties in this country have come and gone, and will continue to do so. The Republican Party has simply become so ideologically rigid and frankly insane that their voter base is shrinking. The only way they’re keeping themselves in some amount of power these days is through rampant gerrymandering, voter suppression, and very large contributions from a few very rich people.

Because half the country is not Republican, or even your hazily-defined “other side.” In fact, according to Gallup, only 25% of people in the US identify as Republican, and only 41% total lean Republican, versus 31% and 47% for the Democratic Party. And strong majorities support things that the right wing has come out strong against: same-sex marriage, maintaining and strengthening Social Security and Medicare, not getting rid of Obamacare, coming up with a fix to immigration, etc. So yeah, “the other side” is actually less than half the country, and is shrinking.

And [Lalo] is presenting this to the country.I am not.

You know that people all over the US and even the world can read this comment section, right? So yeah, you’re presenting your ideas to the country. There might just not be as much of it reading you. Does this make you sad? You seem to bring it up a lot.

I don’t care that you post your measly criticisms—your words, not mine—here. So what do you care that I post my own criticisms of you? Do you think you’re so special that anything you say should be let stand? That ain’t how this works, dearie.

By the way, folks usually regroup in order to not disappear. I frankly don’t care whether you do either. I’ll still be here, one way or another, partly because it’s already been well-established that you wish that I would disappear, and it’s fun to annoy you. And it’s adorable that you try to pin any sort of identifier on me besides “agrestic.” I always look forward to what your next label will be. Maybe I’ll make a bingo card!

Which suggests you’re not much of a numbers person. You do realize that 41% is closer to a third than it is to a half, right?

Someone who takes devious pleasure in playing games about it is either really sick or they haven’t come to grips with it.

As I’ve said before, my (or, for that matter, your) gender has so far had no bearing on the discussions here about Lalo’s strips. The fact that you feel so compelled to determine mine demonstrates a real mental limitation on your part, or maybe you just feel an existential threat to your masculinity. Possibly a bit of both.
