There was an episode where Charlie Brown’s team reports for the first day of spring training. Charlie Brown tells his team, “I expect lots of hard work. You need to burn off that winter fat!” Snoopy (who apparently had eaten Violet and Frieda over the winter), thinks “I didn’t come here to be insulted!” and leaves in a huff.

I can’t see Snoopy putting up with this for long.
I also think PP’s inability to see Snoopy’s canine propensity is a comment on sports managers who see only the ability to play or lack thereof.
