I disagree. I think it’s about them seeking the power to force others to believe, worship, and live as they do. Religious extremism has been around for a long time. The current crop is just slightly more extreme and has better weapons.
According to myth he hated what he created. Kinda like Winchester wife except he didnt build a house the stay safe from the ghosts of those killed by his creation.
The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a “good guy” with a gun, so hey, let’s just follow the NRA motto and give everybody a gun, and they’ll sort it out on their own, right??
