Hissing cockroaches are HUGE – about the size of your hand – and they are fairly popular as pets in some parts of the world. It’s one of the few wild creatures in Oz that won’t kill you within three steps. (Or four.)

If anyone I lived with got a cockroach, I would MOVE OUT. Or trace my entire rooms interior with cockroach repellent.

Be careful with Tarantulas. Some have toxic “fur” that will cause a nasty rash. I understand most are harmless to humans, though.
