Well, this is…very sad. I love reading the old GA strips from the 1920’s with little Skeezix and Auntie “Bossom”….but I suppose we must think realistically! After all, she’d be WELL over 100 by now, so…

It was wonderful to see Walt and Skeezix. Hopefully, since it is now officially autumn and the leaves are falling, they will be allowed to remember some of those walks in the woods which they used to take, to take in all of the fall colors!

And a set up? Walt would now be around 114.

This has got to be a portent of Walt’s passing. I hate to say it, but it has to happen.

Wow….how often do you hear the term, “kith and kin” these days? I think it was pretty ancient even in 1922.

Now I am all teary-eyed. It is a lovely bit of poetry.

Is this an actual published work or was it created for this particular comic? I’d really like to know who wrote it.

Yep, I’m 70. My Mom and Dad would be 104 and 112 respectively. Well done Jim. I still enjoy GA as much as I ever did.

For Walt to still be around at that age (and in reasonably good health, to boot) would be somewhat of a miracle in the flesh and blood world. Given the inevitable, I’m hoping that he will be featured quite a bit more in the coming weeks.
