Yet another low in bad conservative cartooning (thanks, Harley, for helping to spread the lies). There is zero — zero — evidence that ISIS is in, or even has plans to come through Mexico, as the intelligence agencies have told congress twice in the past week. Just because Republicans are demagoguing the issue doesn’t make it true. And no one is claiming that we’re trying to stop Ebola to keep it from coming here. There is almost zero danger of ebola in a country with a modern health-care system. The effort is humanitarian.
Helping those countries to constrain a serious health problem with a remote possibility of affecting the U.S. directly with a humanitarian mission is certainly not as valuable as launching another war against another country that’s done nothing to the U.S., and not likely to have serious impacts here at home if the “fear mongers” are ignored and rational beings get any attention, and authority to act.
Great strip, Lisa. Ebola is a horror, but so-called “humanitarian missions” are best addressed by civilian resources… and, if our over-extended military is tasked to do something like this, it should not be in the midst of a war.

Apparently not if one of those two things involves humanitarian aid.
