Well, by the time we have been around long enough to have learned all those verses, we have become too old to remember all those verses, and, also, “Why did I come into this room?”

I always thought it was " Jose can you see…."

Maybe it’s not us. Maybe it’s the song.

Because we’ve allowed people like Rosanne Barr tear apart the song and disrespect it and various “artists” prolong the song for ten minutes. Too many people have disrespected it for people to care about it anymore!

A multi-octave nearly impossible to sing composition they matched to a POEM written by Key, which, amazing how many sing the anthem way off key, and don’t know the words, so they’re only mumbling incoherently to boot…

I am in total agreement with PianoGuy24 It really is outrageous. This anthem should be sung as intended (which my generation learned in grade school). With Respect!

^Almost every NASCAR event starts with an ear and nerve shattering rendition, and of course a prayer for all 43 starters to win.

A lot of musicians dislike the song. My step-father was in the Army Chorus and said it was a poorly written song in terms of the melody. I’ve heard others say this as well. I want to say there’s been effort to change the anthem to America the Beautiful, which I personally think is a better song. In any event, I don’t know many who don’t know the words to at least the first verse.

After being forced to sing a national anthem for 12 years in 2 different languages, I refused point-blank to learn any other.I hold 2 nationalities and do not know the words to the new anthem of the one, and never bothered with the other’s.Nationalist nonsense.
