False rape accusations are rare, most rapes go unreported, most reported rapes go unpunished. You may think the law is over the top, but you’re still helping spread a misogynist meme here.

You know, there is actually nothing either complex or even over-complicated about the concept: if it isn’t an enthusiastic consent, then don’t consider it a “yes.”

A lot of people would be better off if they understood the basic principle of “if you’re not sure, then it isn’t a yes.” The problem is the ones which consider other people to be nothing other than warm meat, rather than actual people.

Totally missed the boat on this one, Ted.One in four women experience rape. Virtually all women experience some form of harassment. Too many people think that “no” is just being “hard to get.”It’s not a difficult concept. Ask the woman. If she says yes, it’s okay. IF NOT, IT ISN’T.What’s so hard about that?

I’m with @motivemagus on this one. The problem is not that women are teases, playing “simon says”. The problem is treating women like property and sex like an entitlement. Why get so bothered by the idea that women have a say as well?

There will soon be an app to address this problem.

Actually, verbalizing every step of the way could be pretty sexy. Except for the tongue-tied — for them, certain tongue exercises could be prescribed.

‘Cat got your tongue?’ could have a new meaning.

While there are cases of regret or acrimony leading to false charges of rape, and the more puritanical the community, the more likely this type of offense is to occur, “NO” means NO, and “STOP” means STOP. Involuntary rape, which is an act of violence, not “sex”, is not just a simple commission of the sex act, and that’s where the court’s decision should rest.

In the event of such violence, especially if repeated, I have no problem renaming the guy after a dog we had in ’Nam, her name was: “No Balls”.

California; of course!.I maintain that the primary approach to men’s attitudes toward women begins with the PARENTS, and on this subject, especially the FATHER!.During my experience observing other families (friends included) many fathers are proud when their son(s) exhibit prowess, and score often. In short, if the father imparts to the son that a woman is a sex object, whether by example or implication, trouble will follow. Team sports also seem to promote this way of thinking. .I forget who the writer is, but I once read a quote: The best thing a man can do for his children is to love their mother."

Ted, I stand by my original comment — you blew it. Let me restate it: MOST women get harrassed, one in four get RAPED, but once in a great while a guy MAY get falsely accused, so it is ridiculous to make sure she says yes explicitly? That’s the absurd perspective?First of all, why is it so hard to ask and get an answer? As many have noted, that can be very sexy. Second of all, why is that any more absurd than the current assumption that men are entitled to sex when THEY want it?Third of all, what’s the worst that could happen if thisnlaw is enacted, eh? And your cartoon isn’t it. And fourth – both Harleyquinn and I agree on this – that alone should given you pause.

Video record the whole thing, from the time you meet until the time you appear in court. Leaves little room for doubt.

“Get your self off? No worry about the other person? that could very well open you up to rape or at least exposure.”I’m pretty sure he meant take care of your needs in privacy, as opposed to the preaching of some abstinence “educators”.
