Never forget, indeed. That this led to the two most unjustified wars in American history. The deaths of innocent civilians is NEVER justified, whether by “them”, or “US”! Both sides of the lesson must be retained, indeed for our own “humanity”.
@dtroutma: would you have us do nothing after an attack. That is what Bill Clinton and the democrats did for eight years. Each attack got bigger and bolder until it led to the second attack on the WTC. If we do not respond, the attackers are emboldened.

Bad as it was, when I saw the second plane hit, then the towers come down, I feared the death toll would be ten times what it turned out to be. Small compensation for that day, or what followed.
