I see the flag of Japan which was known as the land of the Rising sun but I am not aware of the economic situation that Japan is currently experiencing. It can’t be good after the natural disasters that they experienced.

Remember, if you will, the period from September, 2008, and January 2009. The economy of our country, and by extension most of the world, was in near ruins. We were losing jobs by the thousands every week. The entire banking system was in danger of collapsing. Congress decided to pass a law bailing out the banking system at the expense of the taxpayers. Beyond that, the president and the congress did nothing, saying that there would be a new president soon, and that we didn’t want to sabotage his plans when he got into office. So for four months we paid off bankers and watched the foreclosures and business closings and did nothing else but hope.

Fast forward to today, five years after the Republicans announced that they would do everything they could to make Mr. Obama fail. By many accounts, that would have happened anyway, but we all can agree that he had major help from the other side of the aisle. And who pays for this political posturing?

The economy is better, but it certainly could be better still. The question is whether party leadership of both parties care more for power and numbers than they do for the people the represent. To this point, the former has by far the highest priority. All we can do is vote.

Do your homework; vote for any representative who is worthy, but vote out anyone who cares more for party than for people, Dare to dream.

We need to return to the strong economy we had in the 40s and 50s. Say, what was the top tax rate back then? 90%?

The biggest problem facing the Japanese economy… and later the Western ones is the ageing population. It’ll hit Japan in the next twenty years, and Europe and the US, after that and with lesser effect. Both Europe and the US are more open to immigration.

Obamacare appears to be one of the drags on our economy:-http://thefederalist.com/2014/09/09/obamacares-part-time-nation/

The flag of the Japanese expanding empire, is not the flag of today. The American “right” today, like Ramirez, would have those rays coming off the Stars and Stripes, but interestingly, they don’t feel that expansion should cost them a penny in taxes… What does Ramirez, and the “right-wingnuts” NOT understand about basic economics, that wars, just like roads and bridges have to be paid for. (And contracting to privates instead of government is 50-500 times as expensive!!! Mercenaries are paid a lot more than Marines, and 500% markups for road jobs by contractors are pretty much standard, and don’t even think about “defense” R & D costs!!))
