A rose by any other name, doesn’t poison minds quite like football. While soccer fans do seem pretty fanatic as well, it doesn’t seem to totally preoccupy so much of the populace as our “sport”. The “SOP” for soccer also isn’t as devoted to folks ramming each other over, and over, causing brain damage, or other disabling injuries, as our version, where the feet are rarely used, so we should call ours “charge the bull ball”, “pass ball”, or “air ball”, not “football”.
