Anandy, Medicare, being an insurance plan for aged people (the ones most likely to need medical assistance) in a country with increasing number of older people, may need propping every now and then, sure.
Yet compared to some of the private entities, well… there may be a reason it’s so popular among those who use it.
Having paid into Medicare all my working life, including military (first year USMC 1964, total W2 $976), I’m really looking forward to using it this year, even with the bewildering maze of choices of rip-off artists for the B and D parts. It really should be lots simpler for us codgers to figure out!
Most of the rest of the world already has a simple system; if you’re here, and sick, we’ll get it taken care of. If you have some kind of insurance, please let us know. Else, have a better tomorrow. That’s how it should be in ‘the richest country on Earth’.
