I would guess that American doctor’s dealing with it in Africa are quite careful about contamination procedures. The problem is any complicated process has holes and people make mistakes. Nobody is perfect. If it get’s loose in the general population, the chances for mistakes and transmission multiply exponentially. They probably have vials of the virus in the freezer already that will be rediscovered in a decade or so.
