Oh Grandpa you known-it-all!

Don’t be a dweeb, grandpa.

Anyway, Dwane and Dwight are only names so I don’t think they classify.

Fifth grade teacher says “We don’t have words with three consecutive vowels.” Little John pipes up with “That’s beautiful!”……Principal’s office.

Today’s strip at Creators.com and at Arcamax.com: It’s going to be one of those days.

“Class, is there a word in English that contains every one of the vowels?” “Unquestionably.” “Well, what is it?”

“Sugar is the only word where ‘su’ is pronounced ‘sh’.”“Are you sure?”

“Double negatives should be avoided, but there is no such thing as a double positive.”

“Yeah, right!”

“Did you know that ‘pants’ is the only word where a plural is singular?”

“Pass me the scissors.”

I had once heard that the only word in the English language with consecutive i’s was skiing. I asked a friend if she knew what word it was. Without hesitation, she said radii.

I love Grandpa. He’s so cool!!

Facetious has the vowels in order, facetiously even has the “sometimes y”. I don’t know if there are others.

I have a mental picture of a bunch of people furiously paging through dictionaries!
