I have a hard time “getting” this strip sometimes. When I was a kid, we didn’t say “booty” for buttocks. You might hear it in a risque commercial or movie trailer, but not in something aimed at families or children. There is no way children in my area/culture would have been allowed to talk about “booties” or that parents would use that term with them. I cringe every time I read it in OBH. Makes me think of song lyrics and such that objectify women, because that’s pretty much the only other place I’ve seen it, even today.

Ya Ruthie what daddy says though did not know children had booty calls only teens did. Children would be grossed out.
