I saw Gorgeous George wrestle once when I was a little kid at the Ardmore, Oklahoma National Guard Armory. I loved pro wrestling ever since. And, yes, I know it’s 90% showmanship and 10% sport. Back then, they had women’s wrestling and midget wrestling, too.
One of the dumbest arguments I’ve ever heard was at work when one employee was failing to convince others that wrestling is not a real, competitive sport. The counter arguments were the dumb ones. I need to get out of the working class.

I agree! I always loved watching high school wrestling… but pro wrestling just doesn’t interest me.

Soap opera for guys. At least, it was for the guy I lived with in the 80s.
