Poor James, not a warm coat or hat. No mittens. This is a neglected child.I wish Ruthie’s mom could give him some of Joe’s outgrown clothes.Even tho I reckon he is a little onery.

It could be Maine or Idaho or New York.

Sorry, but there’s nothing ‘modern’ about that. It’s ancient, and probably eternal. Read some Dickens.

Miss Avis, missing grammar is the least of James’ problems…

“called the modern family. Over worked, under paid and not enough to go around.”~~~~~~~~~~~I’d say more like the modern “Un-Family”; no father, diffident mother who relies on stamps and the 99-cent store for survival.

James often refers to his Uncle. Wonder if he lives w him?

Seriously, Detorie? This joke is so old and unoriginal. I normally love “One Big Happy”—it’s the first strip on my page—but this is not your best work.

At least James has long pants. Think about poor Henry, who only has shorts.
