No DVR here. I’m still taping stuff on my VCR. It’s from 1988 and still has all the controls on the unit. The remotes wore out too soon and weren’t cheap to replace so I stopped buying them after two.I inherited a newer machine but you need the remote to operate it and the old one died years ago. It became the playback machine.OTOH, I also have a tape-to-DVD machine on which I’m saving all those old goodies from 1987-88 to disc.
