Most of those young men and older women being held in border facilities don’t look like 6 year olds. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2653063/Republicans-claim-Obama-policy-enticed-tens-thousands-homeless-illegal-immigrant-children-cross-border-landing-secret-government-holding-pens.html

" So I guess the generosity of Americans is starting to pay off."

We are equal-opportunity arms merchants. The free market at work.

“Put troops along the border and don’t let anyone cross.” HAHAHAHA! Didn’t study geography much in school, did you?“The border’s total length is 3,145 km (1,954 mi), according to figures given by the International Boundary and Water Commission.” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico–United_States_border)Let’s say we have one guard per ten feet. That’s a MILLION border guards. Expensive.Okay, so how about a “Great Wall of Mexico” (keeping in mind the Chinese equivalent didn’t work)? We ALREADY have some fencing, and it cost a lot:“Customs and Border Protection spent $2.4 billion between 2006 and 2009 to complete 670 miles of border fence, and the vast majority of that was single-layer — one line of fencing designed to keep either pedestrians or vehicles from crossing into the United States, according to a Government Accountability Office report.”Furthermore:“A 2009 analysis by the GAO found that the cost of pedestrian fencing ranged between $400,000 and $15 million per mile with an average of $3.9 million a mile. The price of less expensive vehicle fencing ran anywhere from $200,000 to $1.8 million a mile, for an average of $1 million a mile.”http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/06/21/19062298-price-tag-for-700-miles-of-border-fencing-high-and-hard-to-pin-down?liteIf you want to spend a couple of more BILLION dollars for a fence that STILL won’t keep everyone out, let’s just say that some thinkers disagree.

Well, we could pay for it easily if we just raised ta….oh, never mind, we don’t really need a fence. And, by the way, it’s all Obama’s fault. (sarc)

So it’s expensive to build a fence, right? How much does it cost just to deal with the 100k illegals now in custody? 3.7 BILLION according to 0bama.So how much does it cost to educate and feed the other 12-20 MILLION illegals and their kids?Tens of TRILLIONS?A tenth of that would build a secure border, but obviously the Democrats don’t mind millions of poor and government dependent people flooding our country. Democrats prosper on those kind of voters.

“put them on planes back home as soon as they get here and they will stop coming”They can’t. Bush signed a bipartisan bill into law that guarantees these minors the right to a hearing and a councilor before they can be deported. The wait list for the hearing is about two years.

Um, no. Did I say that?

If you read closely, I specifically stated he signed a bipartisan bill. That’s not assigning blame, that’s stating a fact. It wasn’t just bipartisan, it passed Congress unanimously.
