Hall of Fame voters are frequently pretty silly (so are the voters for MVP and the Gold Gloves and other things too numerous to mention). You have to wonder if George Brett had started a few years later, ended a few years later, with the EXACT SAME STATS, would he have gone into the Hall on the first ballot? Or would he have seemed to be part of an “era” ?

And let’s not forget all his career runs (1844), doubles (668), and steals (414). His 291 homers and 1175 RBIs aren’t bad for a leadoff batter either. Biggio belongs.

No, “The All Natural” is Frank Thomas, and he is going into the Hall of Fame on Sunday.

The Hall of Fame vote process leaves much to be desired; it is not a well-oiled process. How is it possible that no first-ballot player has received 100% of the vote?

During the Tom Brady-baby mama mini-drama, Peter King was writing about Biggio, and, to describe his leadership skills, wrote, “Craig Biggio has a little Tom Brady in him.”.To which a reader replied, “Did Brady knock up Biggio, too?”

As a long-time Braves fan, I can assert that Biggio was the best at beating my team during his era, much like Chase Utley today.
