You never can know how many bugs might be hiding in a garden hose, Red! Like a lot of other people, I remember drinking out of hose when I was a kid. Almost a rite of passage! ;)

It’s amazing some of us survived our childhoods. We drank out of hoses, rode bikes without helmets, rode in the back of the station wagon without seatbelts. I also remember standing on the bench seat with my arm around my daddy’s neck while he was driving and he’d let me hold the wheel while he lit a cigarette! These days he’d probably be in jail for child neglect! We were never sick and are healthy 60 somethings! Drink up Red!

I doubt our dog would spit out any bug she caught. To her, it would be just another treat; after she was done playing with it, of course.

Generally speaking, garden hoses have lead in them, so they might not be safe to drink out of.
