No. The English Flag is the Cross of St George. A red Cross on a white background. The flag of the United Kingdom is the Union Flag and is a combination of the the flags of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland adding the Crosses of St. Andrew and of St Patrick to the Cross of St. George. St. Andrew’s Flag or white saltire is a diagonal white Cross on a blue background, and St Patrick’s is a red saltire on a white background. More here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_Jack

    BTW the spelling is ‘effete’.

If it was a white cross on a blue background it would be the flag of Scotland, but it is nowhere near the flag of England.

About ten years ago, I was in Lexington VA. (Beautiful town) and visited Thomas Jackson’s home, the VMI , a nice model train store, and Washington-Lee College. In the foyer entering the main college building are busts of George Washington and Robert E. Lee. I wonder how our first President, who also risked his life for eight years to help in the birth of our Republic, feels about sharing the same room with a man who did his damndest to break it up?

Fly the Confederate flag to show how much you love America.

“Really ignorant cartoon.”Yes. KKK have their own flag to represent their hatred which shouldn’t be confused with the flag representing all those southerners who so bravely defended their right to own and trade human slaves.
