Parrots, also known as psittacines are birds of the roughly 372 species in 86 genera that make up the order Psittaciformes, found in most tropical and subtropical regions. Parrots in the wild would appear to not have a need or instinct to fly South, those that are pets in northern climates probably would not have the instinct to fly south and being in captivity would inhibit the migration instinct. Just Saying!
We still have wild parrots that have lived for generations on Telegraph Hill in San Francisco..They don’t seem to want to live(or travel) any where else..
