If you want illegal immigration to stop, the issues in their home countries need to be addressed. They come to the US hoping for better than they had at home. How bad does it have to be before bending over all day in strawberry fields sounds like a better place to be? Help them fix the problems in their home countries, and they will stay there.
Drug abuse in America is not confined to poor urban youth. It is widely prevalent in mansions and hi-rise condos. Over the years, I have encountered people at parties in upper-class neighborhoods who gather in a room to snort concaine. I came across heroin use once. You’re right; these people, who have plenty of money to use toward numerous other pursuits, just cop out and want to get their high. And, it fuels misery and death to many others who supply them, or get in the way of suppliers. One time, I had an arguement with a guest who was snorting coke in the back yard (kids WERE around), and I was asked to leave. I did, willingly.
In the 1950’s thru 1970’s, this country DID contribute money, through grants and no-interest loans to many impovershed nations in Africa and Central/South America, and later found out that the president/dictator and his cronies ended up with the money.The U.S., despite some mistakes, has tried, MUCH MORE SO than many other wealthy countries. But, we can only do so much.

And I knew that Ramirez was being nasty about Obama. My question is What is the possible basis for this nastiness? Who is the guy in the turban? And where did he get his bomb? Is there some criticism of substance here? (Silly question, when it’s Ramirez).
Yes, I wondered if he could be trying to say that because of Obama Iranians (wearing turbans) are going to be running across the border carrying atom bombs. Bizarre, but then that’s Ramirez.
