And here I thought that guy with the bomb had been running around years before Mr. Obama was elected President.

Shush. Everything bad ever is Obama’s fault, and if we elected a Republican, the world would do whatever we told them to.

If you want illegal immigration to stop, the issues in their home countries need to be addressed. They come to the US hoping for better than they had at home. How bad does it have to be before bending over all day in strawberry fields sounds like a better place to be? Help them fix the problems in their home countries, and they will stay there.

You be the worlds policemen some more?Take out the crooked criminals in charge down there?
Fund the rebels/drug trafficer’s instead of helping the government/drug tracifficer’s?
How about doing away with the market here for the drugs that turn folks into criminal morons. You know the ones that would rather get high then work so they steal and kill each other and anyone that gets in the way of getting money to get dope with.
    Think last weekend in Chicago.
The 60’s doper moron drug crap is encouraged by the left.Think Bill Clinton and Obama smoking weed ,snorting coke.
Yea dope use is a victimless crime. When it’s easy to see the victims if you just look.
    Crooked governments mean failed economies.

And how are we to do that, a lot of the aid we send to Mexico, Honduras & Guatemala goes to the cartels

Drug abuse in America is not confined to poor urban youth. It is widely prevalent in mansions and hi-rise condos. Over the years, I have encountered people at parties in upper-class neighborhoods who gather in a room to snort concaine. I came across heroin use once. You’re right; these people, who have plenty of money to use toward numerous other pursuits, just cop out and want to get their high. And, it fuels misery and death to many others who supply them, or get in the way of suppliers. One time, I had an arguement with a guest who was snorting coke in the back yard (kids WERE around), and I was asked to leave. I did, willingly.

In the 1950’s thru 1970’s, this country DID contribute money, through grants and no-interest loans to many impovershed nations in Africa and Central/South America, and later found out that the president/dictator and his cronies ended up with the money.
The U.S., despite some mistakes, has tried, MUCH MORE SO than many other wealthy countries. But, we can only do so much.

You could also change the after Obamanation sign to show vast hoards of illegals running across.

IF OBAMA HAD BEEN PRESIDENT IN 2008, THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WOULD BE BANKRUPT AND UNEMPLOYMENT WOULD BE 50%

Juuust a bit outside! If you don’t understand the toon, please don’t try to teach others. Try something along the lines of watch for children at play vs a person with a bomb.

^This post illustrates how strongly what one brings to a cartoon (or piece of writing, for that matter) in preconceptions influences what one sees.
(In the first panel, I saw a refugee family fleeing…)

Hi martens — You’re right. The first sign is what is called an “Immigrant Crossing Sign” — you can google it and find images of real signs on real roads. That wasn’t my question. And I knew that Ramirez was being nasty about Obama. My question is What is the possible basis for this nastiness? Who is the guy in the turban? And where did he get his bomb? Is there some criticism of substance here? (Silly question, when it’s Ramirez).
