In all the dragon myths, it’s the local king or villagers who pick a pretty maiden and tie her to a post as an offering to the unfriendly local dragon (so it’ll eat her instead of destroying the village.)
Actually, you could make this work if she answered an ad from a villager who was really planning to sacrifice her to the dragon. So he invited her out for coffee and then tied her to the post.
