I have to say, weather wise, this has been the strangest summer in memory here on our barrier island. We’ve only had a few hot days so far and summer is almost over. Cool weather, lots of rain … my tomatoes are just now beginning to ripen. We have several pots of herbs that have suffered from too much rain and too little sun … sickly looking with lots of pale yellow leaves, etc. The only plants that have flourished are our African Marigolds. They’ve just about taken over our flower garden.
