That engineer is very generous with the company’s money and property.

When I was a small child living in a Los Angeles suburb, there was a big field behind our house with a train track on the far side of the field. One day there was a worker engine going back and forth doing something with the right-of-way, and they gave me and my mother a short ride. One of the highlights of my early childhood.

Sightly OT- has anyone bought the Gasoline Alley Volume 1 of the Dick Moores years? I just saw it on Amazon for the first time yesterday. It collects 1960-1961 and is the same format as the Complete Dick Tracy .

I grew up in the railroad section house for the Angels Camp/Jamestown line. The line was abandoned years before I was born, so all I had was imagination of the trains of yesteryear. I would have loved to have driven the engine. This is a heartwarming story, but don’t forget to let Rover have a turn and Becky have a turn. :o)

But before your ride, each of you have to sign 20 different pages of legal forms, that hold us not responsible in the case of a derailment, boiler explosion, etc., etc., etc..
