Compared to some of the other cartoonists “styles” out there, Scott’s artistic abilities are downright phenomenal. Bottom line though, is that I enjoy this toon for the artistic dialogue more than the images. Keep it up sir. I salute you.
Vermeer had to start all over every time he began a new painting. The real labor-saving trick isn’t just tracing, it’s reusing the same tracings over and over again. Imagine if Vermeer had thought of that — how different the history of art would have been!
Actually, Vermeer wasn’t the first or the only great artist who used tools (camera obscura, etc) to assist his artistic result. Illustator is just a tool.The art is in the imagination, concept and result.

We certainly read this strip for the great writing, not the barely passable drawing, which makes Dilbert look like Vermeer.
