Hard to keep track. As a general rule, cartoonists drawing kid characters draw a lot from their own childhood. Many strips still show see-saws (aka teeter-totters.) Maria has as well. But I’ve heard they’ve largely disappeared. These are very much like the monkey bars we had on my playground.
