That phrase was part of a bus ad for a Dr. Hiss, a Long Beach podiatrist, ca 1956. I’d see it on the bus to Hebrew School.

I saw another version of this cartoon; possibly by the Bliss. Pallbearers were carrying a casket, and one says to the other,“He said his feet were killing him, but no one believed it.”
“John Buck” sounds like a name you’d use in a limerick.

The best known John Buck was the Hall of Fame sportscaster (Jack Buck), but the dates are wrong.
Joe Buck was the stud in Midnight Cowboy.
