Finding Nemo came out the year this strip was printed (2003). There’s going to be a sequel to it called Finding Dory (possibly 2016). Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks will be reprising their roles as Dory and Marlin. Dory of course, is the scatterbrain but resourceful blue tang fish who helped Martin find his son Nemo.
“That should be “her” son Nemo, since in a clownfish family the male becomes a female if the only female dies…”-And it was never explained in the first movie what happenedto Nemo’s mom.
I just checked, and we have the film “Finding Nemo” in our DVD/BluRay library..Haven’t watched it yet; maybe this afternoon after I get back from the dentist…
I amazes me how a screenwriter can come up with a script for a movie based on a book without ever reading the book.
Or for that matter, how movies based on actual events barely resemble reality. There are two Kevin Costner movies I get confused: JFK and the Untouchables. I don’t know which one involves more gunfire.

I always thought that, instead of “Based on [Book Title]”, the Hollywood credit should read more like “Suggested by the title of [Book Title]”.
