Some years ago (before they became protected) an owl perched right outside this man’s upstairs bedroom window. The hooting woke up him and his wife. They stood it for as long as they could, so he gets up, loads the shotgun in the dark, quietly opens up the porch door.Pitch black out, can’t see a thing. So, he fires up into the tree hoping to scare him away.Wife: Did you get him?Husband: No, dern it!
