Even with all of that, I would rather see such drones used than actual American soldiers. They should be used only as an absolute last resort (if used at all). Good Grief, I actually see myself agreeing with tiger. Will the age of wonders never cease!!

(Gulp!) OK, I am in agreement with you on this one too.

But the US MUST use this option sparingly, and more carefully. Someday, our indiscriminant use of drones over other nations airspace will come back to bite us.

I am sorry, I do not know whether to take that as a positive to my own views or a negative. If there is time left before the change at midnight, and you see this please explain. Oh, wait a minute, you must mean my comment about agreeing with tigger. Well, you know tigger sometimes verges on actually being a thinking conservative instead of one of the more just reacting ultra conservatives. Much to his credit!

Besides, even an analog clock that no longer runs, tells the correct time twice each day!!

I read this cartoon as saying that “no boots on the ground” isn’t the same as “we won’t get involved/entangled”.

Too many in the U.S. think the world is our oyster. While up in Canada where they were farming oysters, noted that with scallops, you throw away the “s**t” and eat the meat, and with oysters you throw out most of the meat and eat the “s**t”. Yep, that’s an accurate analogy.

The use of drones is exactly the sort of behaviour that promotes terrorism. They create impotent fear in the citizens of the target country which results in the development of more creative ways of hitting back. When that creativity is coupled with opportunity and resources, new terrorist groups form.

Putting boots on the ground puts faces to the attackers and allows the victims to see it is real people attacking them, not just the whim of some anonymous uncaring president of an elitist, violent, uncaring country. Those real people can be talked to, traded with, bartered with and relationships formed. That prevents terrorism.

The more America attacks people in such remote, cowardly ways as using missiles and drones, the more they will be confident you are frightened of them – which, of course, you are.

You’re not just ‘playing into the hands of terrorists’ by using drones, you are creating the terrorist response. Unless, of course, you intend to kill everyone in the target countries.
