My guess would be that the kids broke the Goldfish bowl and ran the fish out there to save it or Marm ran it out there!
If you look at the expression on the kids faces they are just as surprised as the Mother there but then again i dont know
Maybe Marm wanted his water flavored. Goldfish pee and droppings are flavors.
