Gracie: Who took my pencils?! Gracie: I need my calculator! Gracie: It's hard to breath! Gracie: Why am I sweating?! Dad: Books help her with school-withdrawal symptoms.
Can we PLEASE not have Gracie the center of attention in this strip! It’s called Baldo for God’s sake! Give her her own strip for her fans so I don’t have to hear her Eric Cartman looking face!
Like I said in this next day’s strip, you need help, Gracie! Keep this up and you might need a padded cell one day. C’mon, a kid obsessed going to public school, even in Summer?
I hated summer as a kid and still do. I used to go to the library and take out books. I would read more than one complete book a day. They would have read a book programs at the library and I would read enough books for the entire program (suppose to last the summer) in less than one week. I would then have to argue with the librarian because they wanted a certain portion of the books to be fiction and the rest non-fiction and almost all of mine would be non-fiction, which I considered better than fiction and should be able to be counted against the fiction.
Husband was the opposite. When he ran a special ed school he still hated going back to school and liked the summers better.

Spoiled kids. We didn’t get to use calculators in school way back when. We had to do math longhand.
