Oh indie, you show such an admirable concern for all those children. It’s almost as if you weren’t simply using them as a cudgel with which to beat the extremely dead horse that is your general objection to the very existence of one L. Alcaraz..Are you truly concerned about those rescued children? Be honest now. Have you given their horrendous experiences more than a minute’s thought beyond how you could bring them to this page to try to negate the experiences of 60,000 frightened children from Central America who have shown up and turned themselves in along our southern border? You know, the ones who are running from being tortured and murdered? The clear majority of whom, according to reports, are fleeing targeted and specific threats towards their own individual selves?.My guess is no. My guess is that all you see those kids in Mexico as is fodder for your hate-cannons. As an excuse to turn your face away from the human suffering that presents itself on our doorstep..Maybe I’m wrong. I suppose it’s possible you’ve got some human decency in that shriveled heart of yours. But you’ve been quite successful at hiding it if it exists.

about 5 years ago, a commenter used to show up on the old Dick Locher-drawn Dick Tracy strips here at go comics. he always said the most outrageous things and if anybody dissed him on any of them he would turn to his attack mode and lambast them severely. this , in turn , would generate even more comments, some defending but most castigating him. and those comments, in turn, would generate even more.for awhile there , there were sometimes over a hundred comments in Dick Tracy.some folks just love the attention.I’m reminded of this when I read the comments section of Lalo. Of COURSE this guy is going to get a lot of feedback because most folks here genuinely admire Lalo’s work( duh, why would they hang out in a comments section of someone they DIDN’T like?).Since this guy is the anti-Lalo , if you will, he expects and receives , tons of comments about his own. and, I’m guessing, he LOVES it...and the beat goes on……

“That’s why I am on here.”

Making the world a better place by annoying at most maybe half a dozen other comment readers on a good day.

indie thinks that if one dude is punching another in the face, well, make sure to criticize the punchee’s cheekbone for the damage it’s doing to the puncher’s fist..But you do realize, don’t you indie, that Lalo has very often been critical of Obama in his strip. Or do those strips just sit in your blind spot?.And who says any of us here unconditionally love his work? Just because you unconditionally hate it doesn’t mean the rest of of don’t have more nuanced views..I also find it interesting that you consistently equate Mexican American culture with Mexican culture. Lalo very rarely addresses the latter, unless it’s also very much a part of Chican@ culture and experience. That you can’t tell the difference is simply another sign amidst the Times Square of your ignorance.

All this over a Pinata (sp.?)…there must be some internal message, but I, for the most part, haven’t found it yet… Unless… the Pinata stands for some kind of overwhelming nastiness. I’m guessing this has to do with all of those Central American children who are crossing our borders, and the US reaction to them. Who knows… ;)

Who says I’m a Ms.? But it’s nice that you can actually occasionally come out with a word like “verbose.” Did you learn that one today? And which part of what you’re guilty of am I guilty of? Not saying I’m not; I’d just like you to define your terms.

I guess Mexico is holding onto our US Marine because everyone else wants to leave.

It’s sweet of you to remember our conversations, indie. But as both of your quotes from me show, I never said I was one or the other. You never know: maybe I’m neither! But you just went ahead with your assumptions. And we know what they say about when you assume, dear: it makes a donkey out of you. Anyway, why should you always assume the person on the other end is a male unless proven otherwise?.As to arguing, there you go assuming about me again. When have I contradicted myself for the sake of an argument? I pretty much take the opposite side of an argument from you because, as it turns out, I fundamentally disagree with what you write here..And I must say that it’s quite delicious you’re saying that someone who just likes arguing shouldn’t be taken seriously. I think maybe you mentioned something about “glass houses” a few days ago? Maybe it wasn’t you, I can’t keep all of you nice right-wingers apart in my memories all the time.

Is Lalo married? I wouldn’t know. So nope, sorry, not his wife. Maybe his agent? His lawyer? Oh, I know! Maybe I’m his hairdresser! But they’d all probably know that, wouldn’t they? Hmm…I suppose I’m just a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Have at it, Encyclopedia Brown!.As far as assumptions, well, I just say it like I read it. And what I read from you, dear indie, is a whole lot of right-wing talking points and Republican-sounding sniping. You may claim to be a moderate, or even a left-winger, but what you consistently post gives the very strong impression that you’re quite comfortable in your tighty-righties.

you probably believe that fox “news” is really “fair and balanced”. their opinions and smugness go down well with the crowd who won’t listen to reason Or science.

I do get tired of indies’ constant complants about this strip, and getting tired of the flame war he seems to have started. I don’t plan to read comments, but just enjoy Lalo’s humor.
